The list of 2022 Hunan’s “most Beautiful Rivers and Lakes” was announced the other day. A total of 50 rivers and lakes are on the list, four of which are in Changsha, i.e. the Guitang River (Xiangzhang Road-Changsha Avenue) in Yuhua District,  Gaoqiao Town section of Jinjing River in Changsha County, Xiaohe Township section of Xiaoxi River in Liuyang City, and Chujiang River (Liushahe Town) in Ningxiang City.

The Jinjing River is a first-class tributary of the Ladou River, which originates from Maling in Changsha County and flows through several townships, with a length of 63 kilometres. Gaoqiao Town has been working to create the scenery of “pink peach blossoms, green willows and clear water” along the section of the Jinjing River in Gaoqiao Town. The lighting design of night scene was also carried out, and lights were added to the docks on both sides of the river, the wooden plank road, and the suspension bridge.

Meanwhile, various kinds of ornamental plants like American red maple, pterocarya stenoptera, salix carmanica, flowering peach, amygdalus persica, and gardenia were planted so that there will be different scenery in four seasons.  
The governance of Chujiang River has been taken as a practical project for the people. Ecological plazas, pedestrian walkways and dams have been built around the Chujiang River, providing a good place for people to relax and also improving farmland irrigation.
