On a meeting held in Shuangjiangkou Town, Ningxiang on January 26, Luo Junliang, 53 years old, put forward a proposal to the able villagers, calling on them to make contributions to their hometown. The Shuangtan Concrete Co., Ltd. he operates paid an annual tax of tens of millions of yuan, which, together with the transportation company and other entities he founded, allowed more than 100 villagers to find decent jobs in their hometown.
Yang Yifan, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and mayor of Shuangjiangkou Town, said that last year, the town vigorously developed the headquarters economy and introduced 34 market entities with annual tax of more than 100,000 yuan, among which Hunan Fuming Construction Engineering Co., Ltd. and Hunan Baxing Construction Services Co., Ltd. paid more than 1 million yuan.

With the efforts of able villagers, the whole town raised 60 million yuan to successfully build 50 beautiful and livable villages, installed 1,300 new street lights to light up the main roads in the whole area, and hardened 87 kilometers of roads.
At the same time, able villagers gathered their ideas to promote the integrated development of agriculture, culture and tourism, assisted in the construction of 2.7 kilometers of metasequoia landscape road, internet-famous bridge, 10,000-mu (about 666.7 hectares) colored paddy sightseeing area, “Shuimei Village” and other projects, and promoted the successful pilot “Digital Shuangjiang” in Xinxiang Community and Yunji Village.

Shuangjiangkou Town, known as the “land of fish and rice”, has achieved new results in the development of various undertakings last year. It was approved as a “clean town” and an “advanced town for grain production” in Changsha.

Throughout the year, it completed 40,000 mu (about 2666.7 hectares) of centralized seedling cultivation, 155,000 mu (about 10,333.3 hectares) of grain planting, and 3,600 mu (240 hectares) of cultivated land restoration, ranking first among the 29 townships (sub-districts) in Ningxiang City. The collective economic income of villages (communities) in the whole town exceeded 5 million yuan for the first time, of which the collective economic income of 6 villages (communities) exceeded 500,000 yuan.     

This year, the town will plan to build another 30 beautiful and livable villages, improve the highway quality, complete the renovation of the Weijianghe River, and build tourist destinations in the suburbs of Changsha, so that more than 90,000 villagers in the town can enjoy their life and work in the beautiful town.
