During the New Year’s Day holiday, major business districts in Changsha saw recovery in popularity, with venues opening their doors to welcome customers and restaurants crowded with guests.

In Wuyi Square Business District, a constant stream of customers came to shops like Hey Hey Black. The streets and alleys were filled with lively atmosphere.

At South Huangxing Road Pedestrian Street, the number of food deliverymen from such platforms as Meituan and Ele.me has increased significantly. “The sales have grown by 10 percent to 20 percent, which brought revenue and more confidence to our merchants.” Mr. Wang, who runs a snack stall at Taiping Street, obviously felt that the flow of people had increased in the past two days.

During the New Year’s Day holiday, Changsha Municipal Bureau of Culture, Tourism, Radio and Television launched a series of activities on the theme of “Happy Changsha, Charming Star City” to start the new 2023 with delight.
