Rural communities are different from traditional administrative villages and urban communities, as the people here are not far away from farmland, while enjoying the urbanized living environment. It can be imagined that the management of rural communities is no easy thing.

“Our community is so beautiful, and the neighbors are like a family, because we have a good elder sister,” says those living the community.
Zhu Qingzhen, director of the neighborhood committee of Bailong Community, is the “good elder sister” that people mentioned. Since Ningxiang launched a competition among Party members this year, she, together with the member of the committee, has actively addressed people’s problems for the masses, and maintained a stable and secure community, becoming a close friend of the residents. 

This is part of the effort Baimaqiao Subdistrict made to bring the Party closer to the masses, promote the regular and long-term implementation of the campaign “do practical things for the masses”, which has achieved satisfactory results.

Ningxiang-Shaoyang Expressway has facilitated the travel of Ningxiang people. The expressway has a section of about 500 meters in Bailong Community, which had huge impact on people’s life during the construction period. There were nearly 50 problems such as quicksand flows into the fields and ponds, severely-damaged road, and land occupation outside the red line for construction, etc.

Zhu Qingzhen immediately communicated with the construction party, and gave a reply to the masses. What she did ensured both the construction pace and the people’s interests.

In 2022, Ningxiang suffered a rare continuous drought in summer and autumn. Zhu Qingzhen and other community party members and cadres inspected the water in Huangcai Main Canal early every morning, reminded all team leaders to use mountain ponds to store water.

In August, when the water in the main canal was insufficient, she came up with an idea to pump water from the Baimaqiao Reservoir to the Bailong Branch Canal, so She went into the mountain with people to open a path for water pipes. And on that day, the water was running into Bailong Branch Canal.

As a new type of rural community in the suburbs of Ningxiang, Bailong Community has comprehensively implemented the rural revitalization strategy, constantly improved the living environment, and successfully created the municipal “Five-Star Beautiful Natural Villages” by raising funds from the masses. It becomes a good place for residents to take a walk and relax.
