The three-day 2022 Hunan (Changsha) Cross-border E-commerce Trade Fair ended on July 24. It attracted more than 400 enterprises and institutions as well as more than 22,000 professional visitors.

A total of 100,000 cross-border e-commerce exhibits were sold out including digital, household appliances, shoes and clothing.

Joint efforts to discuss the future of cross-border e-commerce

During the preparatory stage, the local commerce authorities of Changsha City actively helped industrial parks and enterprises to invite guests, organize forums and hold publicity activities.

During the fair, about 20 summit forums and salons were held simultaneously. In the fair participated about 20 well-known cross-border e-commerce platforms, 15 characteristic industrial belts, China's top 50 global brands and 65 local cross-border e-commerce leading enterprises in Changsha.

Multiple high-end themed summits were held on the themes of the future development trend of cross-border e-commerce, digital transformation, foreign market of Hunan's traditional industries, etc.

To help more cross-border e-commerce enterprises seize opportunities, the local commerce department and government departments at all levels and exhibition institutions jointly invited leading platforms or enterprises in the cross-border e-commerce industry to share their experience.

More importantly, government departments and industry giants shared policies, practical experience and strategic business opportunities, talked about the innovative development of cross-border industries and provided insights into new cross-border trends.

Nearly 100 exchange activities were carried out during the fair, among which many high-end summits hosted by Changsha were packed with audience.

More than 3,000 key guests and professional purchasers were negotiated during the fair, and initial intent of cooperation was achieved in more than 60 projects.

Fruitful results enjoyed by exhibited enterprises

The fair attracted many leading brands, with high supply and demand matching accuracy.

The platform enterprises achieved remarkable results. The fair provided a multi-channel and multi-market platform for Hunan's traditional industrial belts.

The industrial belt can match the cross-border e-commerce platform suitable for its own development to find orders according to characteristics of products as well as international and regional consumption.

With the joint efforts made by Changsha and other places, about 20 platforms organized more than 200 training sessions on site.

A total of nearly 30,000 people were consulted through following the official Wechat accounts and joining in the Wechat groups.

There were more than 6,500 potential enterprises and over 2,200 of them expressed their intention on site of further cooperation.

The service providers organized more than 100 activities in the booths. They attracted about 40,000 consultations and obtained more than 4,200 cross-border sellers that expressed their intention of further cooperation.

Many exhibitors have begun to renew their reservations for the booths of the 2023 Hunan Cross-border E-commerce Trade Fair.

New journey of cross-border e-commerce

The fair not only makes outstanding cross-border e-commerce enterprises and institutions around China get a better understanding of Changsha's unique advantages in policy, industry, market, logistics and talent, but also demonstrates the great charm of Changsha.

In recent years, cross-border e-commerce in Changsha has developed rapidly. Since China (Changsha) Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone was approved in 2018, Changsha has formed an ecosystem of cross-border e-commerce, providing a "Changsha Model" for the field of cross-border e-commerce.

Statistics show that the foreign trade of the city's cross-border e-commerce amounted to 3.5 billion US dollars in 2021, with a year-on-year growth of 43%.

Accelerating the construction of an ecosystem of cross-border e-commerce will inject strong impetus into Changsha's efforts to develop itself into an opening-up hub and a more prosperous provincial capital.
