Reconstruction of Nantianping Transformer Substation completed

On November 29, the reconstruction project of 35 KV Nantianping Transformer Substation in Ningxiang City was successfully put into operation, which marks the first step of improving the quality of 35 KV transformers in Changsha.  

In February this year, the State Grid Hunan Power Supply Co., Ltd., decided to complete the comprehensive transformation of 100 35KV substations every year. The 35KV Nantianping Substation is one of the two substations implemented by the State Grid Changsha this year, and is the first completed by the company.

 
Nantianping Substation was put into operation in 1993. Now, there are two 35KV main transformers with the capacity of 10MVA and 6.3 MV respectively. The operation time of equipment in the substation generally exceeds 20 years, and the equipment status is poor.

Especially such old outdoor equipment as 35 KV circuit breaker, 10 KV column circuit breaker and vertical disconnecting link have frequent faults, and the spare parts of protection devices have been discontinued.

More than 50 equipment failures have occurred in the substation in recent five years, which seriously affected the safe and stable operation of power grid and the power supply reliability in Nantianping Town and surrounding areas.

The reconstruction project of Nantianping Substation implemented load transition by adding interconnection switches of distribution network lines, and made full use of the relatively low load period in autumn through power outage. It reduced the safety risk of on-site construction and shortened the construction time of power outage.

Nantianping Substation is the first 35KV transformer substation in Hunan Province to adopt the mode of “35KV HGIS and 10KV prefabricated cabin and secondary prefabricated cabin”. With more indoor devices, the operation environment is greatly improved. Highly integrated equipment also reduces the floor area.

HGIS (Hybrid Gas Insulated Switchgear) is adopted to reduce the maintenance costs, and a prefabricated cabin instead of the original 10-kilowatt outdoor pole-type disconnector greatly improves the power supply reliability of distribution network.
One-key sequential control is first adopted in the 35 KV substation in Ningxiang areas, which improves the operation efficiency.
