The latest list of China's top 100 rural banks was released recently. Zixing SPD Rural Bank, Linwu SPD Rural Bank, Cili SRCB Rural Bank and Ningxiang SRCB Rural Bank, are among the 8 banks from Hunan on the list.

Rural banks in Hunan were initiated and established by 18 banks, including Shanghai Pudong Development Bank, Shanghai Rural Commercial Bank, Changsha Bank and Liuyang Rural Commercial Bank. The first rural bank is Xiangxiang Rural Bank which was established in 2008.

Rural banks have effectively utilized local capital to support agriculture, small and micro businesses. Taking 5 SPD Rural Banks in Hunan as example, they have explored development space by brand promotion, while focusing on agriculture, rural areas, farmers, small and micro businesses.

By the end of September this year, the banks have granted 22.981 billion yuan of loans, including 20.789 billion yuan for agriculture, rural areas, farmers, small and micro businesses.

In the 8 banks on the list, 3 belong to SPD Bank and 3 belong to SRCB Bank. The other two are Changxing Rural Bank in Xiangxi and Xianghuai Rural Bank in Shaodong.
