Ningxiang-Shaoshan Expressway is one in the expressway network of “seven horizontal roads and six vertical roads” in Hunan Province.

Upon completion, it will effectively ease the traffic pressure in Ningxiang downtown, and add a major tourist channel for Northwestern Hunan to such famous scenic spots as Mao Zedong’s former residence and Hengshan Mountain.
The construction of the expressway has been completed and will be open to traffic on November 28, 2022.
The expressway is 42.603 kilometers long, of which the Ningxiang section is about 34 kilometers. It adopts the technical standard of dual 2-lane carriageway, with a design speed of 100 km/h.
It starts from the northwest side of Xianfeng Temple in Henglongqiao Town, Yiyang City, and ends at Donghutang Town, Ningxiang City, connecting with Shaoshan-Loudi Expressway.
The Ningxiang-Shaoshan Expressway has strengthened the connection between the districts and counties of Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan City Group, laid a good foundation for the development of tourism and transportation in these areas.
It’s of great significance to improve the expressway network in Hunan Province, enhance the regional traffic conditions, and promote the economic and social development of the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan City Group.
