A cargo airplane took off from Huanghua International Airport in Changsha for Mexico City at 20:14. On the same day, the intercontinental mail, express and freight routes from Changsha to Mexico were successfully opened.

The route is operated by Hunan logistics business branch China Post and Hunan Yuanrun air cargo transportation Co., Ltd. (a subsidiary of Yuanrun Holding Group).

It is planned to operate three to six flights a week with a load of 50 tons. It is expected that the monthly international air cargo throughput can reach more than 1,000 tons.

It is reported that the exports include postal parcels, epidemic prevention materials, cross-border e-commerce goods, etc.

The opening of this route can effectively expand the aviation logistics channel of Changsha airport, help advanced manufacturing industry in Hunan Province extend to the high end of value chain, and attract cross-border e-commerce industry in South China to gather in Changsha.

Meanwhile, with the continuous expansion of the international freight route network of Changsha airport, it can exert the role of superposition in such major open platforms as Pilot Free Trade Zone, Airport Economic Development Zone, Cross-Border E-Commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone and the integration of post, express and customs, enhance the competitive advantage of Changsha airport’s international supply chain, as well as push Changsha to be a hub for China’s Reform and Opening up in inland areas.

At present, the regular international freight routes from Changsha to Moscow, New York and Los Angeles are in normal operation. This year, the routes that were suspended due to epidemic and other factors will resume, and more than six new international cargo routes will be opened.

There will be more than 10 routes and destinations in the whole year, making Changsha airport achieve the goal of one million tonnes of cargo and mail throughput.
