Recently, CCID Consulting released the list of “2022 Top Ten Cities/Parks for New Energy Storage”. Changsha ranked first among the top ten cities, and Ningxiang High-tech Zone ranked third among the top ten parks.
New energy storage refers to new energy storage technologies other than pumped storage, including new lithium ion batteries, flow batteries, flywheels, compressed air, hydrogen (ammonia) energy storage, thermal (cold) energy storage, etc.

The evaluation of top ten cities comprehensively assessed the industrial competitiveness of each region based on multiple indicators such as basic ability, innovation ability, support ability and number of enterprises.

After more than ten years of development, the scale of advanced energy storage materials industry in Changsha is growing day by day.

At present, there are over 100 enterprises specializing in the manufacture of advanced energy storage materials, forming a closed-loop industrial chain ranging from upstream precursors, anode materials, cathode materials, diaphragms, electrolyte to cells, PACK and waste battery recycling.

Combined with the evaluation results of the top ten cities, the evaluation of top ten parks was based on such indicators as industrial development ability, core competitiveness of the parks and industrial support ability.

Ningxiang High-tech Zone has always increased its efforts to cultivate energy storage materials as a characteristic industry. Over the past 10 years, it has focused on the coordinated development of the industry chain, the innovation chain and the service chain.

It has built a leading energy storage materials industry cluster in Hunan Province with domestic influence. In 2022, the output value of energy storage materials in Ningxiang High-tech Zone exceeded 40 billion yuan.
