The Peto Pet Nutrition Research Center of Feed Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) was established in Ningxiang High-tech Zone recently.

The research center is jointly established by Hunan PETO Biotechnology Co., Ltd. and the Feed Research Institute of CAAS, which has achieved the first in-depth strategic cooperation between pet food enterprises and national scientific research institutions.

It aims to create a pet industry development model with the technological innovation, industrial transformation and consumption upgrade, in order to play a leading role in promoting the high-quality development of the whole industry.

The number of cats and dogs in China's cities exceeded 110 million in 2021, and the number of pet owners reached 68.44 million, which has driven the rapid development of the pet industry. The pet consumption market in 2021 reached 249 billion yuan.

Feed Research Institute of CAAS is a national scientific research institution specializing in animal nutrition and feed science. China's pet food industry is in the rapid development. Pet food quality safety has attracted more and more attention.

The pet industry standard system needs to be improved, and the pet industry needs more support from scientific and technological innovation. That's why the research center was founded.

Low-temperature baked food and freeze-dried raw meat are the emerging pet food categories, which can preserve more nutrition needed by pets and are welcomed by consumers. PETO realizes that only by increasing investment in development and market research, and constantly launching innovative products, can it take the first-mover advantage and initiative in the industry.

Hunan PETO Biotechnology specializes in pet food, ranking in the forefront in terms of the research and development level and production capacity of freeze-dried raw meat and low-temperature baked food.

The joint establishment of the research center with the Feed Research Institute of the CAAS will make the company's R&D capabilities redouble.

The Feed Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences will work together with Hunan PETO Biotechnology on pet food research and development, quality and safety evaluation, standard research and formulation, pet welfare, pet food industry development strategy and other fields. They will seek to build the research center into a model for fostering new drivers of industrial development.
