Focusing on the revitalization of rural industries, Batang Town in Ningxiang City has made continuous efforts to develop its three main industries of agriculture, industry and service, injecting strong impetus into its high-quality economic development.

Spring plowing ensures rice yield.

It is now time for spring plowing. Seen from afar, the enchanting countryside, golden cole flowers, operating agricultural machines and busy farmers constitute a vivid picture of spring farming activities.

In 2022, Batang Town was awarded the title of the Advanced Town for Grain Production both in Changsha City and Ningxiang City. This year, the town made a plan in advance and seized the farming season to carry out spring ploughing activities to ensure a bumper harvest of grain this year.

In 2023, Batang Town will prioritize national grain security and fully promote grain production, providing early rice seedlings for 35,700 mu (2,380 hectares) of paddy fields. The planting areas of rice and dry grain are expected to reach 108,000 mu (7,200 hectares) and 6,000 mu (400 hectares) respectively.

Investment attraction injects vitality into industrial development.

Located in Weiwu Village of Batang Town, Ningxiang Juxing Hard Material Co., Ltd. specializes in the production and sales of new environment-friendly and energy-saving building materials, with a project investment of 50 million yuan. The project started construction in May last year, and the factory has been completed. In addition, talent recruitment for the project is being progressed in an orderly manner.  
The site of Juxing Hard Material project was originally an idle land in Batang Town. In 2022, when the project was introduced, Batang Town established a special team to provide services in all stages of project construction. "At present, equipment installation has been basically completed, and workers are debugging the equipment. The factory is expected to be put into production in mid-April with an annual output value of 100 million yuan," said a manager of the company.

Since 2022, the town has efficiently taken advantage of idle assets and advanced investment attraction to release the vitality of economic development.
 
Local products are developed based on advantageous resources.

At Changsha Nongjia Liuxiang Food Co., Ltd. located in Bao'an Village of Batang Town, cured products were sorted, weighed and bagged.

The company mainly engages in the processing of meat products and vegetables. A wide variety of characteristic agricultural products processed by it are sold well in supermarkets across the country.
 
In recent years, the company has adopted the mode of "company plus farmer" and entrusted more than 60 local villagers to plant vegetables. The company employs over 30 people daily and more than 60 people during busy time.

In 2023, Batang Town will strengthen agriculture to ensure grain production, and develop characteristic agricultural products such as pickles and cured meat to increase the income of village collective economy. It will facilitate the industrial development, and increase 2 industrial enterprises above designated size and 2 enterprises with a tax contribution exceeding one million yuan. Furthermore, it will revitalize the service industry through the integration of culture and tourism, and create a distinctive leisure brand for the elderly as well as parents and children.

At present, Batang Town is boosting rural revitalization through prosperous industries and drawing a development blueprint of strong agriculture, beautiful countryside and well-off farmers.
