A series of folk performances were staged in various scenic areas of Changsha during the Spring Festival holiday, such as light show, dragon and lion dance, ringtoss, hoop bowling, and drum playing.
In the Ancient Town of Tongguan Kiln, Chinese knots, spring couplets, lanterns and other Spring Festival decorations could be seen everywhere. The molten iron fireworks show was staged, stunning the present visitors. In the first four days of the Spring Festival holiday, The Ancient Town of Tongguan Kiln received nearly 70,000 tourists, with the peak of 25,000 on January 25 (the third day of the first lunar month).
In the Tianhan Cultural Park in Changsha County, the New Year’s atmosphere was thick. “We enjoy the lantern show, hoping for a prosperous new year and good fortune.” Enthusiastic tourists shared their feelings with reporters. “Rolling lamps is a featured activity of Jinjing Town, which I played when I was a child. This time I brought my child to try it, and he also liked it very much,”said Ms. Zhang. The Spring Festival Fair in Jinjing Town added more festive atmosphere.

In Changsha Fangte Oriental Heritage, citizens and tourists could experience traditional customs such as poetry, lanterns and paper-cutting, couplet writing, and watch lively performances such as dragon dance and lion dance.
