In recent years, there has been strong momentum of closer integration of culture and tourism and that of cultural tourism and other industries.

According to the press conference on the theme of “Development of Hunan's cultural and tourism industry in the past decade", many "tourism plus" products in Changsha have become popular this summer. New models and new business formats have emerged in "cultural tourism +" and "+cultural tourism".

Changsha held the first E-sports Cultural and Tourism Consumption Festival in June this year, launched the immersive e-sports interactive challenge season, and created 10 e-sports relevant consumption scenes like Orange Isle and Tongguan Ancient Town. Tourism consumption was strongly promoted through combination of online and offline experiences.

As a City of Media Arts, Changsha combines tourism and performing arts well. From July, Changsha Colorful World invites stars and Internet influencers to attract tourists. Since July, Changsha Colorful World has received nearly 200,000 tourists.

The cultural and tourism industry is one of the industries mostly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Many practitioners and market entities have encountered unprecedented difficulties and pressures.

However, the cultural and tourism industry is also a very tenacious industry. It takes advantages of strong policies as well as Hunan’s resolute and effective anti-epidemic measures to overcome difficulties.

In particular, the whole province has made efforts to promote the high-quality development of the cultural and tourism industry by hosting tourism development conferences. The cultural and tourism industry in Hunan has shown great vitality.

Especially since the summer vacation, the cultural and entertainment venues in the province have seen a boom in tourist reception.

According to statistics, from August 1 to August 5, Hunan's eleven 5A scenic areas received 1,844,900 tourists, with a year-on-year increase of 119.90%.

From August 1 to August 8, Wulingyuan Scenic Area in Zhangjiajie received 203,500 tourists, growing by 89.37% compared with the same period last year and rising by 0.18% compared with the same period in 2019.

At the same time, new tourism modes such as camping, folklore, night economy and cultural fair exhibition gather momentum of adequate supply and great demand.
