"My dream is to have a small room of my own, with blue walls, a big bed, and a beautiful desk." It was the little wish of nine-year-old Xiao Long (assumed name), and now it has come true.
Xiao Long's father works outside the city all year round, and his disabled mother can only feed the family by weaving summer sleeping mats at home. The family lives in a shack where there is his disabled elder brother and sick grandparents who need to be taken care of.

This year, Ningxiang Communist Youth League was designated as reform pilot unit of the Communist Youth League at county level.

To promote the reform and do practical things for the masses, Ningxiang Communist Youth League focused on facilitating the socialization of resource allocation and raised 1.48 million yuan to build 100 “Hope Rooms”.

In the preliminary investigation, the youth league found that although some teenagers’ families had gotten rid of extreme poverty, they were dragged into plight due to serious diseases of family members or the death of parents.

These teenagers lack a favorable environment for study and living, and as they grow older, they urgently need an independent room.
In March 2021, Ningxiang Communist Youth League launched the "Hope Room" project, which provides a healthy and happy environment for teenagers by renovating their rooms into a warm, comfortable and independent one.

Xiao Long is one of the first teenagers benefiting from the project. Nowadays, he has his own clean and bright room. In addition, a painting themed with astronauts was hung on the wall and an electric lamp in the shape of a space shuttle was installed to fulfil his space dream.

In 2021, Ningxiang Communist Youth League has completed the construction of 100 "Hope Rooms" in the city.
