Hunan has been taking solid steps in building itself into a national key hub of advanced manufacturing when vigorously implementing the strategy of “Three Hubs and Four New Missions”.

From January to October this year, the equipment manufacturing industry in Hunan had maintained rapid growth while the advantageous industries such as electronic machinery had achieved double-digit growth. The large-scale industries had increased by 8.7% year-on-year, with an average growth of 6.3% in the last two years, enabling Hunan to rank the 5th among the ten major industrial provinces.

Changsha, the capital city of Hunan Province, has formed five major industrial patterns of engineering machinery, new materials, electronic information, food and tobacco, and automobile and parts, each valued at hundreds of billions of yuan. Now it is striving to promote its engineering machinery to enter the world-class advanced manufacturing cluster.

As the only city in Hunan whose R & D investment accounts for 3% of its GDP, Zhuzhou has an added value of high-tech industry accounting for 28.1% of its GDP. Changde City has doubled its efforts in promoting industrial projects and focused on building the whole industry chain.

In the first three quarters of this year, 152, 85 and 77 industrial projects valued at hundreds of millions of yuan were introduced, started and put into production respectively. Yueyang City has accelerated the construction of 7 major industries, each valued at hundreds of billions of yuan, and the “12 Plus1” advantageous industrial chain.

A number of old industrial bases have been transformed and upgraded. 1,259 new large-scale industrial enterprises are added in Hengyang City whose power transmission and transformation equipment industry is pressing into the national advanced manufacturing industry cluster.

Chenzhou City promotes the construction of demonstration area for the transformation and upgrading of resource-based industries, which accelerates its transformation into an industrial hub.

Xiangtan City promotes the intelligent manufacturing while its industrial chains of new energy and automobile manufacturing, electronic information and new-generation information technology, advanced electric transmission and wind power equipment industry, fine steel, and new materials are thriving.
