Hunan Province held live theme activities to mark the tenth national traffic safety day on December 2, 2021. A variety of events were organized to promote traffic safety, including song and dance performances, video display, video link, children's helmet donation ceremony, and traffic accident escape drills. The 2021 Hunan Traffic Safety Publicity Month was launched on the same day.
The theme activities were hosted by the Office of Centralized Remediation of Deep-rooted Traffic Problems of Hunan Province, the Hunan Provincial Road Traffic Safety Committee Office, the Office of the Cyberspace Affairs Commission of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, the Hunan Provincial Civilization Office, the Hunan Provincial Public Security Department, the Hunan Provincial Education Department, the Hunan Provincial Department of Justice, the Hunan Provincial Transport Department, and the Hunan Provincial Emergency Management Department, and the Hunan Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League of China.
 
The theme this year is "obeying the laws and regulations, yielding right of way for safety's sake, and travelling in a safe and civilized manner". Traffic participants are encouraged to hold in awe of the laws and yield right of way to others.

A person in charge of the Office of Centralized Remediation of Deep-rooted Traffic Problems of Hunan Province said that currently a traffic safety culture with driving civilization as the main feature has not been fully formed, and the safety awareness and civilization quality of some traffic participants are far from being able to adapt to the increasingly complex road traffic environment.

Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the publicity and education of traffic safety to prevent traffic accidents, and enhance the people’s awareness of traffic rules and laws.
 
Relevant person in charge of the Traffic Police Corps of the Hunan Provincial Public Security Department said in an interview that departments at all levels are taking the national traffic safety day theme event as an opportunity to strengthen coordination and resource sharing, take the initiative to perform their duties, and strive to build a civilized traffic system based on collaboration, participation, and benefit sharing.
