The Ministry of Science and Technology recently released the results of the theme activity "Charming China—The most attractive Chinese Cities in the eyes of foreign talents" in 2020. Changsha ranked 17th among the most potential cities in the eyes of foreign talents this year, one place higher than that in 2019.

The foreign expert panel of the activity includes 14 Nobel Prize winners, 1 Turing Prize winner, 16 academicians and 47 winners of the Chinese government’s Friendship Award, the greatest team ever. 

With the theme of “open city and talent introduction”, the activity selected out awards based on 54 indicators in terms of work convenience, life convenience, social environment, city evaluation and openness for foreign talents.

To deeply implement the “Three Hubs and Four New Mission” strategy, Changsha Science and Technology Bureau has reformed and upgraded the Management and Service System for Foreigners Working in China to simplify the approval process of foreigner’s work permit. At the same time, it has promoted construction of the comprehensive service platform for foreign experts, and improved its service to attract more foreign talents.
