The 17th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF) opened at the Shenzhen International Exhibition Center on September 23, 2021.

ICIF is a national-level, international, and comprehensive cultural industrial exposition. Being held for 16 sessions, ICIF has become the most effective and influential fair with the highest standards and largest scale in China’s cultural industry. It is an important window to showcase opening up in cultural sectors in China.

ICIF is co-hosted by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Ministry of Commerce, National Radio and Television Administration, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Guangdong Provincial Government, and Shenzhen Municipal Government. This year, online and offline activities are combined for the first time due to the current epidemic prevention and control situation.

The event lasts from September 23 to 27. The main venue of the fair is at the Shenzhen International Exhibition Center, while a cloud-ICIF is accessible via the official website of the event and the WeChat mini-program “文博会”. Beginning from mid-September, there will be a variety of activities at 67 sub-venues around Shenzhen.

Six booths including Cultural Industries Hall A, Cultural Industries Hall B and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Hall are set up in the 120,000-square-meter main venue. Hunan delegation including 2,468 government groups, enterprises and institutions participated in the exhibition, and the leading enterprises in the national cultural industry accounted for more than 70%.

The Hunan booth is located in the Cultural Industries Hall A, covering 459 square meters. The theme is “keep to the right path and make innovations in cultural industry to build a modern new Hunan”. There are three exhibition areas—one main area for cultural and sci-tech integration; and two featured areas for the centenary of the CPC and innovations in traditional culture.

The booth is mainly operated by 5 major state-owned cultural enterprises under the governance of the provincial government—Hunan Daily Press Group, Hunan Broadcasting System, Hunan Publishing Investment Holding Group, Hunan Sports Industry Group, and Hunan Performance Group; the Malanshan Video Cultural and Creative Industrial Park; the Hunan Department of Culture and Tourism; and, Changsha authority. It gives an all-round presentation of the characteristics of Hunan’s cultural industry, and showcases Hunan’s new achievements in boosting high-quality cultural industry development.
