40 students from poverty-stricken families participated in an activity which was held in the former residence of Liu Shaoqi in Ningxiang City on September 11.

The students from Kaifu District came to Liu Shaoqi Memorial Hall in which they paid respect to heroic deeds of revolutionaries and relived the history. With the encouragement and help of warm-hearted people, the students have been studying hard and making progress in the school. Some of them have been admitted to the city’s key high schools with excellent scores and some rated as the best students of the city and district.

On that day, each of them received a special gift—a 2,500-yuan grant from the Municipal Lei Feng Volunteer Service Federation and the Municipal Welfare Lottery Issuing Center.
