Changsha's air quality remains good for first seven months

Changsha Ecological Environment Bureau announced the air quality from January 2021 to July 2021 in Changsha. The total number of days with good air quality for the first seven months in Changsha’s urban area is 183 days, with the rate of good air quality reaching 86.3%.

In July 2021, the rate of good air quality in the urban area (which refers to the high-tech zone, economic development zone and five districts) was 96.8%, and the primary pollutant was O3.

In this month, Changsha saw 10 days with excellent air quality, 20 days with moderate air quality and 1 day with lightly polluted air quality. The rates of good air quality in Wangcheng District, Changsha County, Liuyang City and Ningxiang City were 96.8%, 96.8%, 100% and 100% respectively.

This July saw a noticeable decrease in O3 in the urban area. There was a sharp decrease in PM2.5 in New Railway Station, Tianxin District, Wujialing Sub-district and High-tech Zone, and also a sharp decrease in NO2 in New Railway Station, Tianxin District, Wujialing Sub-district and Economic Development Zone.  

In July, the city's 31 state and provincial-controlled surface water assessment sections were all in good condition with a good water quality rate of 100% and no Grade IV, V, or worse than Grade V water quality. What’s more, the water quality compliance rates of the municipal and county-level centralized drinking water sources in Changsha City were all 100%.
