On the morning of April 15, the opening ceremony of the 5th Weishan Tea Tourism Culture Festival was held at Weishuiyuan Village, Weishan Township, Ningxiang City.

This year, the festival will be held from April 1 to May 31, with various activities such as tea leaf picking competition, tea making competition, tea artist training, Lu Hua waterfall hiking, study tour, visiting tea mountains, photo contest, and tea tasting, tea shopping and food tasting.
 
During the event, travel agencies from eight surrounding cities such as Changsha, Zhuzhou, and Xiangtan, will launch targeted and high-quality one-day and two-day tours.

Accompanied by a local folk song, the tea leaf picking competition was in full swing. A total of 18 teams and 90 contestants from the Weishan Scenic Area Tourism Alliance, various villages (communities) in Weishan Township, and tea enterprises participated in the competition. The contestants could be seen carefully picking the green and tender tea buds among the tea trees and quickly putting them into tea baskets.
 
At the same time, more than 500 tourists from eight cities including Changsha, Zhuzhou, and Xiangtan visited the tea mountains, filling the tea garden with laughter. In the end, the team from Xiangming Group won the first prize in the tea leaf picking competition.
 
Tea industry is the leading industry for rural revitalization in Weishan Township, and Weishan Maojian is a geographical indication product of China.
 
In 2022, Weishan Township produced a total of 428.5 tons of tea leaves with a total output value of 65 million yuan. The processing industry contributed 126 million yuan, and the total output value of the tea industry chain reached 290 million yuan. The total income of farmers increased by 5.8 million yuan. It was included on the list of "National Agricultural Industry Strong Towns".

In 2023, Weishan Township will take the creation of a national agricultural industry strong town as the overall goal, focus on integrating resources, activating assets, and doing a good job in both industry and cultural tourism.
 
Following the general development strategy of "Party governance for the village, industry for prosperity, tourism for wealth, ecology for beauty", the township will further strengthen cultural tourism, rely on the tea industry, and make good use of the national brand to develop tea-related industries, tea culture, tea landscapes, and tea ecology.
 
This year, Weishan Township plans to hold the 5th Weishan Wellness and Summer Culture Festival in July, the 5th Weishan Rafting Culture Festival in August, and the 2nd Bronze Culture Art Festival in September.
 
At the same time, four high-quality tourism routes will be launched:
1. Traditional Culture Tour: Tanheli Bronze Culture Museum → Tanhe Romance Show → Thousand Buddha Cave → Miyin Temple.
2. Red Culture Tour: Tanheli Bronze Culture Museum → Xie Juezhai Residence → He Shuheng Residence → Nanxuan Cultural Park → Miyin Temple.
3. Sports Leisure Tour: Weishan Rafting, Longquan Rafting → Bobing Village Camping, Changxinglun Camping → Stream Trekking at Chengda Forest Farm.
4. Forest Wellness and Summer Tour: Qingyang Lake → Torreya Forest of Chengda Forest Farm → Miyin Temple → Weishan Summer Resort.
