Places to enjoy osmanthus in Changsha
With the largest number of osmanthus trees among the parks in Changsha, Hunan Martyrs Park has 2,000-3,000 osmanthus trees of different varieties, many of which are more than 40 years old. These trees are mainly planted in the forest near the south entrance of the park, as well as the Martyrs Monument, Memorial Pavilion, the Mid-Lake Square, Red Army Ferry and other places.
There are nearly 1000 osmanthus trees on Mt.Yuelu, which can be found near the management office, Ai Wan Pavilion, Long Corridor, and the Yunlu Palace. There are osmanthus trees near Cai E’s tomb with an age of more than 100 years. Osmanthus trees in Mt. Yuelu are generally 30-50 years old with the orange osmanthus and thunbergii extensively planted.
Hunan Forest Botanical Garden
The garden planted osmanthus trees as early as 1992. It is a place worth visiting. The osmanthus garden is located in the east of the cherry blossom lake, covering an area of more than 40 mu (2.6 hectares). Most of the tall trees are shaped in spherical canopy. The garden has more than 15 varieties of osmanthus trees and most are the orange osmanthus.
There are more than 300 osmanthus trees, which are mainly distributed in the places near the west gate, south gate and inner area.
Hunan Agricultural University
The Dangui Road, stretching 200 meters, has osmanthus trees growing on the both sides.
South Suburban Park
It has a complete range of osmanthus trees. There are more than 100 trees in the walking area on the left near the entrance.
Imperial Tombs Park
There are many osmanthus trees of different varieties on the sidewalks.
