Located in Zifu Town of Ningxiang City, the Zifu Kiln Cultural Tourism Complex Project (referred to as the Zifu Kiln) is taking shape. The Zifu Kiln with a planned total investment of 200 million yuan will be opened on May 1.

In order to protect the Zifu ceramic industry relics and intangible cultural heritage, as well as to tap into the culture of the Zifu Kiln, develop the cultural tourism industry, and benefit the people, the town government has reached an agreement with Changsha Yaoli Ecological and Cultural Tourism Development Co., Ltd. to develop the cultural tourism resources on the original Zifu Kiln industrial site, and build a Zifu Kiln cultural tourism complex project.

In the future, it will build a cultural tourism complex integrating study tour, training, food, homestay, cultural creativity and entertainment, so as to promote rural revitalization with the development of characteristic cultural and agricultural tourism industries, and help Zifu Town develop itself into a "Sun-cured Tobacco Town", "Oil-tea Camellia Town" and "Cultural Tourism Town".

Zifu Town was known as "Yaoli" in ancient times. The history of kiln firing and pottery making can be traced back to thousands of years ago. There are existing ancient kilns built in the second year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty, which have survived for more than 650 years. Local craftsmen have designated the 26th day of the fourth lunar calendar as the Kiln Memorial Day, and hold special worship activities every year, attracting nearly 10,000 people from all over the country.

At the Zifu Kiln Study Tour Base, the female staff of the Zifu Town government have meticulously created their favorite flower arrangement works using simple clay pots produced locally as flower vessels under the guidance of professional flower arrangers.

The flower arrangement event was held at the Zifu Kiln, and the clay pot was chosen as the flower vessel to promote the cultural tourism project and enhance the brand of Zifu Kiln.

The Zifu Kiln Project will occupy 450 mu (30 hectares) of land and will be developed in two phases. The first phase mainly includes the construction of kiln culture study tour base, kiln culture exhibition hall, ancient kiln restoration, cultural and creative workshops, artist studios, surname culture park, characteristic homestay inns, parent-child amusement park, etc., with 2,800 square meters of renovated buildings and 7,200 square meters of new construction. The second phase includes the reconstruction of Zifu Temple, the construction of kiln culture park and surrounding commercial supporting facilities.

The project was commenced in the second half of 2020. Zifu Avenue, "Yaoli" landmark gate building, and four "Kiln Culture" beautiful natural villages have been under renovation.
