On January 31, the Forestry Department of Hunan Province published the first batch of provincial ecotourism demonstration bases, consisting of nine forest farms, forest parks, ecology parks and tourist attractions.

In recent years, ecotourism has become increasingly popular in the global tourism market. 

Hunan is rich in ecological resources. In order to give full play to the functions of natural resources such as natural heritage sites, nature reserves and scenic areas in recreation, education, health care and other aspects, the province has launched ecotourism demonstration bases to accelerate the exploration of ecological experience, ecological education and ecological awareness tourism products.

Ningxiang Qingyang Lake State-owned Forest Farm, Heimi Peak National Forest Park, Mangshan Mountain National Forest Park, Dayun Mountain National Forest Park, the Jiulong River National Forest Park, Mufu Mountain National Forest Park, Suxian Ridge – Wanhuayan National Scenic Area, Zhaoshan Mountain Provincial Scenic Area and Anhua Yuntai Mountain National Ecology Park were selected in the first batch of ecotourism demonstration bases in Hunan. 

The air quality, surface water quality, air noise quality and air bacterial content of these nine ecotourism demonstration bases have all reached the national Class I or category I standard, and the concentration of negative air ions is all higher than 1,500 per cubic centimeter.

It is learned that Hunan implements dynamic management of provincial ecotourism demonstration bases, and conducts comprehensive verification every three years.  Those failing to meet the relevant standards will be deleted from the list.
