The Ningxiang city has 56 hospitals and health clinics, eight municipal medical and health units, 29 health clinics in townships, four street health service centers and 17 private hospitals. Ningxiang People's Hospital, founded in September 1939, is a county-level third grade general hospital integrating medical first aid, teaching and scientific research, rehabilitation and health care. It is the affiliated hospital of Hunan University of Chinese Medicine and the Ningxiang Red Cross Hospital and the location of the Ningxiang 120 Emergency Center.
