Gree Kinghome factory to be put into operation in May
On January 17, Ningxiang National Economic and Technological Development Zone (NETDZ) held the 2022 Economic Work Conference and 2021 Industrial Project Year Commendation Conference.
At this conference, NETDZ announced that Gree Electric (Changsha) would put its Kinghome factory with the annual production capacity of 2 million refrigerators into operation in May 2022.
NETDZ saw its first industrial enterprise with a total output value of 10 billion yuan in 2021, the Changsha’s tenth such enterprise. With the operation of Gree Electric (Changsha), NETDZ is expected to see its second such enterprise in 2022.
“Gree Electric (Changsha) will put its Kinghome factory into use in May 2022, and its overall output value in 2022 is sure to exceed 10 billion yuan.” Zhang Yi, deputy secretary of NETDZ Committee, introduced that the Zone would also implement the strategic cooperation agreement signed between Gree Electric and Hunan Provincial Government, start the construction of Gree washing machine factory as soon as possible and increase more manufacturing factors such as electric motor, compressors, small household appliances and molds, thus building Gree Electric (Changsha) into a comprehensive manufacturing base with a revenue of more than 50 billion yuan and an output value of more than 30 billion yuan and becoming the second R&D and production base to Zhuhai Headquarters.
Though facing various uncertainties, NETDZ, with the goal of “building a leading industry of 100 billion yuan and striving for a national first-class economic development zone”, had secured remarkable achievements in various aspects in 2021: the revenue of research institutes totaled 106.5 billion; the output of industrial companies with annual revenue of more than 20 million yuan reached 76.8 billion yuan; utility indicators like electricity, water, steam, and gas rose by 26%, 17%, 16%, and 26% year-on-year.
NETDZ, in the coming year, would march forward on the road of turning the Zone into a national first-class economic development one by implementing various policies to support its enterprises.
