Industrial base of micro-nano composites under construction

On August 11, the groundbreaking ceremony of the industrialization base of ultra-high-temperature refractory metal matrix composites engineering invested by Changsha WNKC New Materials was held in Ningxiang High-tech Zone.

Founded in 2014, WNKC New Materials Co., Ltd. is a high-tech enterprise committed to solving problems in the development and production of ultra-high temperature refractory metal matrix composites for aircraft. 

Based on the "nano-micro-nano" invented by one of its founders Pro. Fan Jinglian from Central South University and led by innovation, the company has become an industrial base which can provide new refractory metal matrix composites for aerospace, navigation, nuclear energy, engines, microelectronics and other cutting-edge technology fields.

The company is a national "Science and Technology Innovation" small and medium-sized enterprise awarded by the Ministry of Science and Technology,  "Small Giant" enterprise of Hunan Province, a Hunan Provincial Engineering Research Centre and a Hunan Provincial Academician Workstation. It has also won many natioanl and provincial medals for its advanced technology and innovation.

In recent years, as the company is developing rapidly, the existing production base has been unable to meet the national tasks and its development needs.

Therefore, the present project was born at the proper time. With a total investment of 1 billion yuan, the project covers an area of 130 mu (about 8.7 hectares) with new plants, comprehensive buildings, expert buildings, warehouses, distribution stations and ammonia decomposition rooms to be built.

At the same time, the special high-performance refractory metal matrix composites production line and special high-performance refractory metal matrix composites parts production line will also be built.

After the project is completed, it will focus on the needs of the aero-engine field and others to form a whole industrial chain integrating material design, material preparation, component manufacturing and product testing.
