Weishan is located at the junction of Taojiang county and Anhua county, Hunan province. It sees heavy fog and humidity throughout the year. The local Lei Cha is famous for its effects of dispelling heat, soothing the liver, and refreshing the brain. To cope with the humidity and hot weather, local people have been drinking Lei Cha for many years. In June 2014, Lei Cha making skills were selected for Changsha city's intangible cultural heritage protection list because of their unique historical and cultural value and social and economic effects.
